Save on Car Insurance with GEICO

By Ed Parker

NYSSCPA members can save on car insurance premiums with GEICO, a Society affinity partner.

Many car insurance companies must charge a high premium to compensate their agents, which can translate into as much as $200 to $600 in additional fees each year. But GEICO works directly with members, eliminating the agent and passing along the savings to its policyholders.

New GEICO policyholders report saving an average of 15 percent compared to other policies. GEICO also offers an additional 3 percent discount on its rates for NYSSCPA members who are New York state residents.

Society members can speak with a GEICO representative to buy a policy, change coverage, or report a claim. Benefits include safe-driver and safe-vehicle discounts such as savings for antilock brakes, air bags, and built-in antitheft systems; discounts for insuring more than one vehicle on the same policy; and emergency road service coverage.

For a free, no-obligation rate quote, call GEICO at (800) 368-2734. The company's representatives are available 24 hours a day to provide a line-by-line comparison with other insurance policies. Members also can visit http://www.geico.com or contact NYSSCPA Manager of Member Benefits Ed Parker at (212) 719-8313, (800) 633-6320, or eparker@nysscpa.org. Please note that GEICO does not provide coverage to New Jersey and Massachusetts residents. *
