CPA Hall of Fame Selection Process Under Way

By Malaika Danovitz

NYSSCPA Hall of Fame Logo The selection committee of the newly formed NYSSCPA Hall of Fame has begun the judging process for this year's inductees. The committee will choose CPAs nominated for their lifetime achievements, vision, and contributions to the profession and the community at large. Election to the Hall of Fame requires a two-thirds vote by the committee.

"The CPA Hall of Fame offers us a way of honoring those who have made a lasting imprint on the profession and the community," said NYSSCPA President Alan E. Weiner, who conceived the idea.

The Society will announce the first inductees at the Annual Election Meeting and Dinner on May 9 in New York City. (See page 5 and the enclosed brochure for more information.) Honorees will receive recognition plaques, and the NYSSCPA will display a plaque in its offices.

The Society's Executive Committee chose the members of the selection committee, which includes representatives from both inside and outside the accounting profession. See the accompanying box for a complete list of selection committee members. *
