Quick Access to Tax Forms Available via Society Website

New Legislation Center Added

By Paul Sinegal

One of the most popular features on www.nysscpa.org is its tax forms library. Since the Society website has less traffic than government sites, visitors can download resources they need in much less time. This is especially helpful in the days leading up to the filing deadline, when government website traffic is at its worst and causes considerably slow downloads. Not only does www.nysscpa.org have all New York City, state, and federal forms, it also includes official publications corresponding to each form. Click on the Professional Library link in the Find It Fast menu on the Society's homepage to download forms and publications in Adobe PDF format.

The Society's website recently unveiled the Center for New York State Accountancy Legislation. The center provides comprehensive coverage of accountancy legislation currently before the New York State Legislature--A. 8600 and its Senate companion, S. 4402--which seek to reform the state's accountancy statute. Resources include questions and answers, the actual text of the legislation, and links to relevant articles from Society publications including The Trusted Professional. In addition, the center offers the text of testimony submitted at an Assembly public hearing held in New York City on November 16. To access the center, see the link on the homepage under Proposed NYS Accountancy Legislation. Check the site frequently for updates and coverage of other accountancy legislation. *
