Society Asks Member Assistance to Update Records
The NYSSCPA's ability to serve our membership hinges on the accuracy of our data. As previously reported (see Tech Center's January column), we have replaced the AIMS system (our former membership database program) with a new Windows-based system. We have worked diligently to convert the data and correct many errors that had their roots in the old system. A form on the Society's website (www.nysscpa.org/memberdata.htm) now allows you to enter contact information, mailing preferences, and interest codes. This up-to-date information will ensure that you receive mailings that better reflect your interests. We will permanently post the form to allow you to periodically update the information. New E-mail Domain Name We have also changed our e-mail addresses from luca.com to nysscpa.org. The staff migration to the new domain name took place in December, and we changed the member accounts in January. Some members have expressed concern about the change and the perceived loss of their luca.com addresses, but there is no reason to worry. All luca.com addresses will remain in effect. If someone sends a message to [your e-mail name]@luca.com, it will go to the same place as a message sent to [your e-mail name]@nysscpa.org. The return addresses on your messages will read nysscpa.org. There is no reason to change your stationery at this time. We do ask that you change the luca.com address to nysscpa.org as you reorder supplies. Members can establish a free e-mail account through the Society by completing the form at www.nysscpa.org/mail-form.htm. If you previously had a luca.com e-mail account that we converted to nysscpa.org, you do not need to fill out this form. Your assistance in providing current information is invaluable to the Society and will enable us to better meet the individual needs of each member. For more information, please contact NYSSCPA Chief Technology Officer Kevin Lewis at (212) 719-8340, (800) 633-6320, or klewis@nysscpa.org. * |
