Nourishing the Soul CPAs 4:(A) Cause 5K Run/Walk to Benefit Food Charity The Nassau County Chapter and Island Harvest, Long Island’s Source Authority on Food Rescue, recently kicked off plans for the CPAs 4: (a) Cause 5K Run/Walk, to be held on Friday, Sept. 16, at 5:30 p.m. at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, N.Y. NY Islanders legend and four-time Stanley Cup champion Bob Nystrom, an ardent Island Harvest supporter, will be the honorary starter of the walk/run. Island Harvest will be the sole beneficiary of the event in support of its mission to end hunger and reduce food waste on Long Island. Food and refreshments will be served, and all participants will be entered into a drawing for a variety of raffle prizes, which will be awarded immediately following the race. Several awards will also be given out for exceptional performances. Trophies will be presented to the top three overall male and female participants, as well as to the top three finishers in each age category. All children under the age of 13 will be presented with a ribbon for their participation. Sponsorships to date include Weiser, LLP, and the Bank of America as Gold Sponsors and Newtronix as a Bronze Sponsor. Several sponsorship opportunities are still available. Gold Sponsorship includes your company logo or name on the front and/or back of the T-shirt and five free runners; Silver Sponsorship includes a table, your name on the back of the T-shirt and two free runners; and Bronze Sponsorship includes a four-square-foot sign with your name and contact information displayed at the meeting area.
