Full Speed Ahead By Ita Rahilly, Mid Hudson Chapter President The Mid Hudson Chapter has been full of activity this summer, and we plan on going full speed ahead into autumn! On Wednesday, Aug. 24, we enjoyed the Renegades game at Dutchess Stadium. The Renegades played the Staten Island Yankees. Our appreciation goes to Ben Mills, of Levitan, Yegidis & Goldstein, for arranging the event. Our appreciation also goes to Phil Goldstein, of Levitan, Yegidis & Goldstein, for arranging the annual outing to Saratoga Race Track earlier in August. The Mid Hudson Chapter is getting geared up for many events this fall. We will be holding our initial technical session on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Details will follow. On Saturday, Sept. 24, we’ll be heading down to Yankee Stadium to see the Yankees play the Blue Jays. We will have bus pick-ups in Poughkeepsie and Newburgh, and we plan to arrive at the stadium around noon for the 1:05 p.m. game. Our thanks to Rob Unger, of Judelson, Giordano & Siegel, for cochairing this event. (For those who don’t know, Rob had tried out to play for the Yankees!) The month of October holds many exciting events. On Wednesday, Oct. 5, Todd Pajones will be speaking on like-kind exchanges. This seminar will run from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and will be followed by a clambake. We’re proud of our officers and here are our directors: Gretchen Bradshaw, Jennifer George, Jason Giordano, Tracy Gutting, and Benjamin Mills. We will have our ethics seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by the officers visitation and Town Hall Meeting. Be sure to mark your calendars now. Our annual A & A Update is on the horizon, scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 9. This eight-hour seminar will be presented by Steve Fustolo. Those who attended Steve’s presentation to our chapter three years ago know what a great lecturer he is. Check your mail, e-mail and the chapter’s page on the NYSSCPA’s Web site for details of events. Ita Rahilly can be reached at 845-567-9000. |
