The Buyer’s Edge
Discount Shopping Program Saves NYSSCPA Members Money

The
Society receives many calls about the Buyer’s Edge, an NYSSCPA-endorsed
member services program that offers discounts on a wide variety of products.
The Society wants members to take advantage of these discounts and is
anxious to get feedback about the program.
The Buyer’s Edge is a consumer buying service that guarantees the lowest prices on most “big-ticket” purchases, including major appliances, TVs, cars, furniture, luggage, real estate and more. Most nationally advertised brands are available.
Buyer’s Edge members can call a Buyer’s Edge vendor direct to speak to a specialist who has product and service expertise, knows inventory availability, and can arrange delivery to your door. In some areas, Buy-In-Person plans are available for carpet, furniture, pianos, china, luggage and fine jewelry. You can call the appropriate vendor for a referral to a local dealer.
The Buyer’s Edge provides a price guarantee. If you buy a product for $150 or more and find a lower price within 50 miles of the participating vendor within 30 days, the Buyer’s Edge requires that the participating vendor mail you a check for the price difference, plus an additional 20 percent of the difference. Please note, however, that not all items are covered under this guarantee.
