At our first meeting of the new year, on June 30, the chapter officers and committee chairs discussed various ideas for events. Right now, the one event with a definite date is our annual golf outing, on Monday, Aug. 30, at the Skenandoa Golf Club. Last year’s outing was a great success, and I am hoping for an even bigger turnout this year.

We will continue to offer CPE in conjunction with our breakfast meetings. We plan on having one meeting a month from September to December, for which we are working on setting the topics and lining up the speakers. We have a tentative date set for Oct. 22 for the Officers Visitation meeting. This will be a luncheon, and will provide us with 2 hours of CPE in ethics.

Other events that we are working on are a high school visit to expand the future of the profession, a social event for the young CPAs and possibly a half-day event for the accountants in industry. If anyone would like to participate in planning any of these events, feel free to contact me or any of the officers.
