Message From the President

By Lauren L. Kincaid, Syracuse Chapter President

Our annual golf outing, on June 21 at Beaver Meadows, was well attended as usual. There were 112 golfers, and 108 participants stayed for the dinner and awards ceremony. I would like to thank Madelyn Hornstein for her hard work in coordinating this annual event. I hope that everyone had a nice relaxing day of golf, which was well deserved. Great job, as always, Madelyn!

The second annual COAP (Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession) program was held at Le Moyne College in Syracuse June 28 to June 30. I will highlight the success of the program in the September issue of The Trusted Professional as soon as I have an update. This program continues to be a popular one for local high school students, and the applications for participation were quite a bit higher than the previous year.

I hope you got the flyer in the mail for the Annual Summer Sizzler on Aug. 18 at Hinerwadel’s Grove. The main speaker this year will be Gerald F. Stack, Esq., of Hancock & Estabrook, LLP. The topic will be related to estate planning. Please save the date and come and enjoy the CPE session and subsequent clambake, sponsored again by BSB Bank & Trust.

Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or suggestions you might have for the chapter.
