Accounting and Review Services Committee

Joseph Maffia, NYSSCPA Accounting and Review Services Committee chair, and Ira M. Talbi, immediate past committee chair, participated in the Westchester Chapter’s 2005 Spring Accounting and Auditing Update, held on June 8.

Topics discussed included performing a review engagement, SSARS 10 and 11, and the committee’s agenda. Other practice issues included Interpretation 101-3, New York state workpaper retention and documentation rules, and Sarbanes-Oxley and its effect on nonpublic entities.

Grace Singer, chair of the Accounting Principles and Audit Committee of the Westchester Chapter, also spoke with Maffia and Talbi at the Accounting and Auditing in the Nonpublic Environment Conference, held on June 2.
