Suffolk Young CPAs Committee Welcomes Speaker on Parkinson’s

By Christie Comunale

The Young CPAs Committee held its semi-annual Networking Cocktail Reception on Thursday, June 16, at Buchmann’s Radio Grill. Monsignor Father Thomas J. Hartman, director of Radio and Television at Telecare and cohost of the popular television show “God Squad,” was the evening’s guest speaker. Father Hartman, author of numerous books and weekly columns, has been recognized for his professional and pastoral work by winning four Emmy Awards, a Telly Award, several “Man of the Year” citations, and honorary doctorates. Father Hartman was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Less than two years ago, he launched the Thomas Hartman Foundation for Research, dedicated to a single purpose: finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease. Since commencing, the foundation has raised nearly $7 million. To learn about the foundation or to make a donation, please call 631-277-9655 or visit www.hartmanfoundation.org/ donations.htm.

The event was attended by over 60 professionals, including attorneys, bankers, financial advisors and CPAs. Special thanks to the event’s sponsor, the First National Bank of Long Island.
