Taking Time Out By Robert A. Sypolt, Queens Chapter President Well, I finally got to top off my busy season with a much-needed trip (a honey-do trip) to Florida to see my 80-year-old Mom. She has been given the title of the “Eveready Bunny” by her neighbors because of her ability to keep going and going and going even after three major cancer surgeries in as many years. Perhaps those early years many years ago she spent at the FBI chasing around Nazis and Communists toughened her up a bit. This month, the chapter is sponsoring an event hosted by the Bank of New York on SBA Lending Programs. Do any of your clients need working capital (ha!)? If so, this is a must-attend seminar for you! Please register for this event as early as possible, as a similar event we held two years ago was our most highly attended event of the entire year! The event will be held on July 20 at St. John’s University, St. Albert Hall, Room B70. The event will include a light meal at 6:30 p.m. and the seminar will be from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (please see the registration information in this issue). Your cost for this three-CPE-hour course will be only $35, including refreshments. The chapter will have held its annual organizational meeting by the time this issue goes to press. Our new Board of Directors and Officers will have discussed our vision for the future of the chapter and our initial plans to carry that vision to fruition. Please keep an eye out for some exciting details in this regard in upcoming issues. Please do take some time off in August to relax and just “smell the roses!” Robert A. Sypolt can be reached at yourcpa@ix.netcom.com. |
