Message From the President

I want to thank the members of the Rochester Chapter for electing me as president. I especially would like to thank Cheryl Wellman, David Henion, Michelle Cohen, Derek Duncan, Steve Morse, Bill Dresnack and Bonn, Shortsleeve & Gray for giving me all your past and continued support. I represent all the Rochester Chapter members and welcome all comments and suggestions for ways in which you would like to see the chapter serve you in the upcoming year.
We have many events planned and will be adding new events throughout the year. We ask you to look out for and attend the following planned events through the end of 2004:
August: Counselor’s Cup Golf Challenge
September: Audit and Accounting seminar
October: Officers Visitation and Ethics seminar and clambake
November: Tax update
December: Holiday party
This year, we would like to focus on increasing the number of members who serve on each committee. In the past, much of the work to plan and run each event has been done by a few people. We also want to know from members in industry what type of events and topics you care about for education and networking. The board is committed to increasing the participation from members in industry, and we need to know what you want and need.
We also have many opportunities available for CPAs to speak to high school groups. Anyone interested in speaking at their local high school on the benefits of public accounting can contact the board and we can direct you to the appropriate committee chair.
