Young Professionals Committee Visits Local High Schools

By Mike Zovistoski, Northeast Chapter President

The Northeast Chapter’s Young CPA Committee has been busy meeting with local high schools and touting the benefits of a career in accounting. Led by Jeremy Noble, Michael DeMare and Laura Farley, meetings with high school students has been deemed a great success. “The students are very interested in learning more about the profession and ask terrific questions,” said Laura after visiting with accounting students from Waterford High School. Jeremy and Michael noted they too have been welcomed into high school accounting classes with a great deal of energy and enthusiasm. Our goal is to encourage students to enter into the exciting field of accounting and auditing, and make them aware of the unlimited amount of opportunities granted to them should they pursue an accounting degree. Even if we reach only one student, we have made a difference.

Making a difference starts with volunteers. Please feel free to contact an officer or committee chair to volunteer and make a difference.
