Kicking Off The Year

We have lots of excellent programs and events in store here in Rockland. Now that the busy season is behind us, we can look forward to what’s to come.

Incoming Rockland Chapter President Dave Herman has put together a terrific program for the upcoming year. We will start the year off with an organizational meeting on June 21 at 6 p.m. Check out the NYSSCPA’s Web site for the location of the kickoff dinner of an exciting year. I encourage all Rockland CPA firms to send at least one representative to this dinner. It’s free, and you will hear firsthand what Dave has planned for us.

We are bringing back summer CPE on July 13. Smith Barney will sponsor a 3-credit CPE on Retirement Solutions and Basics of College Education Planning. I know I plan to attend this, as I will be having children entering college in the next few years.

Two weeks after that, on July 27, at the Comfort Inn, Citibank will sponsor a 3-credit CPE on IRS Section 1031 exchange.

In August, be sure to check NYSSCPA’s Rockland Chapter Web site for date, location and timesite for a seminar on Rainmaking.

Get ready to cheer: in September, after Labor Day, we are scheduling a trip to attend a Yankees game.

Also, we will hold our IRS update. Additionally, we are going to have another networking event this year.

As you can see, we are trying to keep activities coming to Rockland for your professional and social development. We ask that you get involved in a local committee. Call Dave Herman if you wish to serve on a committee.
