Make the Society Your Society

By Robert Schaffer, Nassau Chapter President

I was planning for my message in May to be my last message as president. However, I’ve been given the opportunity to say a few words in the June issue. It gives me the chance to tell you how excited I am about our May events.

Our installation dinner dance on May 6 was thrilling. It featured “The Godfathers Meshuggener Wedding” and it gave us the opportunity to properly install Michael Garibaldi as our next president, along with the rest of the new officers and board members.

On May 12, our Young CPAs Committee hosted a post–busy season networking event at the 56th Fighter Squadron in Farmingdale. Saturday, May 14, was the annual all-day estate and personal financial planning conference at the Melville Marriott. And May 20 was a breakfast at the Milleridge Inn in Jericho, which was sponsored by the membership committee and is designed as an outreach program to women and minorities. Of course, we also have our other regularly scheduled committee meetings.

I mention these past events so you can get an idea of the programs your Nassau Chapter has been having all year long. We constantly make improvements to existing programs and develop new programs. I encourage you to contact Michael Garibaldi with any ideas you may have.

I would like to thank my officers, board members and committee chairs for all their hard work this past year. Please join me in welcoming Michael Garibaldi as our next president.

Please join us in your society.
