Message From the President

By John Savash, Finger Lakes Chapter President

I hope tax season has treated everyone well. As a look back on my first year as president of the Finger Lakes Chapter, I believe that we have had some very positive things happen. The officers of the Finger Lakes Chapter—Vice President Gary Riopko, Secretary and Treasurer Peter Maier and me as president—worked very well together and we have all agreed to come back next year and serve in the same roles. The two events that we hosted this year, the Oct. 23 NYSSCPA Visitation and Ethics CPE Supper and the Nov. 13 Fun and Communication, were well attended, and we plan on doing more events next year.

One of the major challenges facing the Finger Lakes Chapter is the lack of volunteers to serve as future officers and members of the board of directors. My major goal for the upcoming year is the same goal as last year’s: attract people who will want to volunteer as officers and members of the board of directors.
