A&A Committee to Complete Busy Year with Pension Update on May 20 The Accounting and Auditing Committee will complete its 2003-2004 chapter year on Thurs., May 20, at the offices of Weiser, LLP, in Lake Success. Highlighting this meeting will be a two-hour CPE Presentation, “FASB 132R–Revised Guide for Pension Disclosures” and “Audit Issues in 401(k) Plans,” presented by Jerry Massimino, this year’s committee vice chair. For more information and a registration coupon to this event, visit www.nysscpa.org, click on “Find Chapters,” then on “Suffolk” and follow the registration link. The committee’s December meeting, held jointly with the Young CPAs Committee at Jillian’s in Westbury on Dec. 3, provided a social and networking get-together and was well attended by members of each committee, as well as by the chapter’s president and president-elect. Committee Chair Jeffrey Brinn presented a “Practice Problem of the Month” on Related Party Transactions. The Jan. 13 meeting was devoted entirely to a very timely, two-hour technical GAAP & GAAS Update given by Elliot Hendler, a long-time friend and contributor to the A&A Committee. The committee welcomes the participation of all chapter members at its meetings. |
