Upcoming Events Keep Northeast Chapter Busy

By Christine Paul, Northeast Chapter President-Elect

Although many of us are stuck in the office during this very busy time of year, the Northeast Chapter is continuing to host events for our members.

The Not-for-Profit Committee is holding a seminar and luncheon on March 17 in cooperation with the Empire State Society of Association Executives, called “Protecting Your Organization from Fraud.” Our very own Lou Grumet, NYSSCPA executive director, will be a keynote speaker. (Please see Suzanne Jensen’s article for further information about the event.) We hope that those of you involved with the not-for-profit industry will clear your schedule to attend this worthwhile presentation.

I would also like to thank the Cooperation with Educators Committee for its hard work on the Third Annual Cooperation with Educators Event. A special thanks to all of the firms who sponsored students and provided hosts for the program. It is through this joint effort that this event continues to be such a success.

It may be hard to imagine playing golf this time of year (or maybe not), but plan on dusting off your clubs in time for the Annual Golf and Officers Installation Dinner. This year’s event is scheduled for May 16, at Normanside. Just having the date scheduled is a sure sign that spring is on its way!

As always, feel free to contact me at cpaul@luriecpas.com if you have any comments or suggestions. See you in the spring!
