This is the first year under bylaws approved in 2003 that the Society will operate with three (rather than four) vice presidents.

The officers and directors for the 2003–2004 term will be elected during the 107th Annual Election Meeting and Dinner on Thursday, May 13 at the Marriot Marquis in New York City. Official notice of the meeting will be included in the Trusted Professional.

The Nominating Committee’s official report, including a proxy ballot and detailed information on each nominee, also will be featured in the Trusted Professional and on the Society’s website in the Nomination Center.

According to Article X of the Society’s bylaws, independent nominations for an officer or elected director may be made by petition filed with the secretary by March 20. While recent bylaw changes approved in July, 2003, will move the date for future nominations earlier in the month, the old bylaw date of March 20 is still applicable for the present list of nominees.

Any petition submitting names of additional nominees requires at least 100 signatures of CPA members, other than that of the nominee, and must certify that the nominee has consented to serve if elected. Petitions. Petitions with additional nominations should be sent to the NYSSCPA Secretary as follows: Thomas E. Riley, NYSSCPA Secretary, NYSSCPA, 530 Fifth Avenue, Fifth Floor New York, NY 10036

If additional nominations are received, the Society will inform the membership and have a ballot prepared reflecting all nominees.

If you have any questions about this process, please feel free to contact the NYSSCPA Secretary Thomas E. Riley at triley@tfgcpa.com, or the Society's legal counsel, James A. Woehlke, at jwoehlke@nysscpa.org.
