I would like to thank everyone who participated in the planning and those who came to this fall’s events. We had over 90 people attend our Auditing and Accounting Seminar on the impacts of Sarbanes-Oxley. Our other long-standing event in the fall, the officers visitation and ethics seminar, drew over 175 people. At the time of press, we had our annual tax update coming up, as well as an advanced planning seminar on 1031 Exchanges.

This support makes it easy for us to put on events for the chapter.

Please plan on attending our upcoming technology seminar in early January and support the chapter’s community services projects in December. We annually distribute stockings for the Salvation Army’s stocking-stuffer campaign. If your firm wants to be a new participant, contact me and I will add you to our list of participating firms.

We have 13 active committees, and we are looking for members to participate as committee members as well as board members. Please contact me with your area of interest. We are also looking for members who want to reach out to their local high schools and teach students about the opportunities they have within the accounting profession. The Society has plenty of materials to support a presentation.

I welcome any suggestions for future events. Our committee members will do everything they can to make it happen.
