Message From the President By Patricia G. Wright, Brooklyn Chapter President To all our members, associates and friends of the Brooklyn Chapter of the NYSSCPA, how quickly it seems that we have come to the end of the year. Before you know it, we will be once again in tax season. I trust that for most of us it was still a great year. November was a great partnership month for the Brooklyn Chapter. For those of you who participated in the Estate and Gift Planning and 2004 Tax Updates seminars, hosted by the Hudson Valley Bank in partnership with the Manhattan/Bronx Chapter, I thank you all for attending and our hosts for their generosity. We had great presentations from our speakers Fred Sanders, Esq., and our own President-Elect Warren Bergstein. I thank you. If you visited our website you would have seen that some of us participated in the Brooklyn Breast Cancer Walk. What an experience that was. If you have not contributed, you can still forward your donations directly to the Society. We also participated in a college night with Middle College High School at Medgar Evers College. There is such a need for the children in our communities to be given direction about a career path, as they prepare to leave home for college and the world at large. Please make sure each of us do our part by mentoring a youth. Please register early for the Dec. 9 Business Succession for C-Corp and S-Corp Seminar and the Jan. 6, 2005, IRS Tax Update by visiting the web or contacting Audrey Dussard at dussard@dwassociate.com or me at p_wright@starrllc.com or pat.wright6@verizon.net. To join the Young CPAs Committee and or the High School Program Outreach, get in touch with Tony Pilgrim at apilgrim@fhsnj.org or me at p_wright@starrllc.com. Until next time, see you soon. And keep in touch by visiting us on the web. Pat Wright can be reached at 212-759-6556 or p_wright@starrllc.com. |
