From the President Happy Holidays to all of the Mid-Hudson Chapter members! This time of the year becomes a very busy and event-filled month for many of us. December begins with an Estate Planning Seminar, followed by the Young CPAs Toys-for-Tots Networking Event. The networking event includes invites to bankers, attorneys and other professionals. It will be at the lovely Powelton Country Club in Newburgh on Dec. 3 from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. In addition to reading this publication, you can keep track of all the various upcoming events and happenings on our chapter’s website, under “Find Chapters” at www.nysscpa.org. Check it out today! The Mid-Hudson Chapter is working to provide its members numerous networking opportunities, from a young CPA perspective to our more traditional and highly successful Annual Bankers and Attorney Dinner. We had this very successful annual dinner in November. We had a record headcount and a fabulous speaker: Walt “Clyde” Frazier of the Knicks (see pictures). Walt did a great job speaking about the importance of youth and the changes in the professional basketball arena, along with signing numerous—and I mean numerous—autographs. In addition to all of the holiday events, many members are busy gearing up for year-end. As we know, this is the time where we are planning, working with our clients as trusted professionals and, in many instances, working to provide our clients the advice and management tools to evaluate where the business has been and where it is going. As the famous Spanish proverb goes, “He who does not look ahead remains behind.” Happy Holidays and wishes for a successful prosperous New Year!
