The New York State Association of CPA Candidates' college mixer, held on September 18, brought together students from the New York metropolitan area.

The goal of the mixer was to promote the benefits of Candidates Association membership and provide opportunities for students to network with each other, Candidates board members, and prominent CPAs.

After a presentation on the Candidates Association by its president, Ron Friedman, students met CPAs in attendance including Barry Doll of PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP, Veronica Frisari of Forum Personnel, Joe Manfre of Bonde Beebe, Sandra Scope of Marks Shron & Co. LLP, James Woehlke of the NYSSCPA, and Brenda Wyetzner of Career Advantage Ltd.

"The event gave me the chance to discuss the various challenges students face in today's changing professional environment," said Elsa Ruiz, a student at Iona College. "It was great to be able to ask questions in a relaxed, comfortable setting."

The Candidates Association thanks the CPAs who took time from their busy schedules to attend the event.
