Lower Fuel Costs with HEAT USA

Last winter, NYSSCPA members saved hundreds of dollars in fuel bill through HEAT USA, a fuel oil cooperative in the Northeast.

For an annual $25 fee, Society members benefit from the purchasing power of 20,000 HEAT USA customers, which allows the cooperative to negotiate oil prices at up to 21 percent less than average retail oil costs. In addition, the service also offers a free inspection for each new enrollee and waives the annual fee for the third year if a member takes out a three-year contract.

HEAT USA currently serves New York City, northern New Jersey, and Rockland, Putnam, Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. The network is expanding to Dutchess County in late l998.

NYSSCPA members praise the savings received through the cooperative. Joseph Paldino (Westchester) signed up last January for his home in the Bronx and found HEAT USA to be so cost-effective that he recommended the service to a neighbor. And Jaman Kim (Suffolk), estimates he saved at least a few hundred dollars last year despite the fact that it was a mild winter on Long Island.
