Cruising Along By Richard Wismer, Staten Island Chapter President Our chapter has been very busy since the end of the summer with board meetings, a golf outing and two seminars—and we are just beginning. October’s Education Night event brought together local college students, accountants from big and small accounting firms and accountants from the private sector. The students were able to hear about the life experiences of accountants representing different areas of the profession. The feedback from students attending this event has always been extremely positive. This event was chaired by Cynthia Scarinci, who does a fabulous job organizing and running it. We are also fortunate to have renowned estate attorney Michael Feinberg at our annual estate tax seminar. Mr. Feinberg has lectured extensively in this area. This event is a good refresher on changes that take place in the estate area during the year. This event is chaired by Barbara Sandak. Please note that due to a scheduling change, this event will now take place on Tuesday, Nov. 1. The annual golf outing went off with out a hitch. Committee chairs Mark Fappiano and Anthony Tanzi did a fabulous job planning and organizing the event. The weather could not have been better: 80 degress and sunny, a recipe for a great day. This event drew over 50 golfers. After the game, a barbeque was held at the South Shore Country Club. Thanks to all the accountants who came out and supported the event. As president, I wish to thank all the people who volunteer their time to make our chapter the success that it is today. Keep up the good work.
