Chapters Invite New CPAs to Officer Visitation MeetingsBy Frank Pagani The NYSSCPA chapters have invited newly licensed CPAs to the officers visitation luncheon and dinner receptions to meet Society leaders, hear updates on the profession and the Society, and get acquainted with their peers. Each chapter's Young CPAs Committee chair sent letters to new CPAs in their area to acquaint this audience with the Society and the chapter. "The chapter helps fulfill the Society's mission of providing CPAs and the public in the local area with up-to-the-minute information about the changes that are taking place in the accounting profession in such areas as tax, accounting, regulation, and the new assurance services," the letter explained. Meetings took place in Suffolk, Northeast, Rochester, Syracuse, and Utica in September, and in Mid Hudson in early October. See the article on page 7 for more details. Society leaders will visit Buffalo on November 1; Staten Island, November 4; Southern Tier, December 7; Westchester, December 9; and Nassau, January 11. Newly licensed CPAs interested in attending as guests of the Society should fax their names and fax numbers to Xio Fox at (212) 719-8499 or e-mail her at xfox@nysscpa.org. Other individuals should consult their chapter newsletters for registration information. |
