Message From the President

By Deborah Bailey-Browne, Mid-Hudson Chapter President

It’s January 2004, the beginning of “busy season” for us. I use the term “busy season” versus tax season because the profession, range of services and areas of specialization in the public accounting profession have changed dramatically. This time of the year is actually one of the best times of the year from a professional perspective. If you think about it, these upcoming months are the time of the year where we have the most exposure to our clients.

From a trusted-advisor perspective along with incorporating a rainmaker train of thought, these next couple of months is the point where we are the most in front of our clients. It is a wonderful opportunity to interact, get a better understanding of our clients’ organization and recent changes, assess their service needs and identify value-added recommendations.

As they say in Latin: carpe diem – seize the day. Use this time to create an enhanced and mutually beneficial win-win relationship with your clients.

Best wishes for a successful “busy season” to all!
