Message From the President

By Dan Fordham, Adirondack Chapter President

On behalf of the Adirondack Chapter, I would like to thank Society President Jeff Hoops, Executive Director Lou Grumet and Director of Member Relations Bill Pape for their recent officers visitation. As Jeff pointed out, it certainly is the farthest north that they travel, but the views at the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake were certainly worth the trip.

As I stated last year, the Adirondack Museum is a wonderful place to stop while visiting the Adirondacks. Please refer to their web page at www.adirondackmuseum.org for additional information. And who knows, with the help of Lou Grumet, you may someday see a new wing at the museum (you had to be there!).

Jeff did a great job explaining to the attendees the major highlights of the senate bill sponsored by Senator Kenneth P. LaValle and passed unanimously by the State Senate in June. His message was clear: we need to contact our representatives in the Assembly to assure passage of the bill.

Additionally, I would like to thank Bob Colson for presenting the Ethics CPE and reviewing the state rules and regulations that govern us CPAs, as well as discussing the codes of professional conduct. All those in attendance walked away from the seminar with new insights.

Please remember our upcoming seminars in Lake Placid on Oct. 21 and Nov. 24. Please refer to the upcoming events schedule or visit the web page for additional information.
