September 1999
NassauBy John J. Kearney, President
Being the largest chapter in the Society carries the burden of satisfying the diverse needs of all of our members. We are very fortunate to have many active members who fill the roles of officers, board members, and chairs of some 23 committees all doing an outstanding job. This year, we started a new committee for attorneys and accountants. This committee has the support of both the Nassau Chapter and the Nassau County Bar Association. The committee had its first meeting in June at the Nassau Bar and over 100 people attended. Our first chapter meeting in September will showcase this committee. The remainder of our chapter meetings will focus on networking, including two joint meetings with our Suffolk friends and the Long Island banking community, a meeting with the Society officers, and the chapter's very successful student night. We look forward to a great year with our excellent committee programs and the social events of the Annual Installation Dinner and the Banker/CPA Golf Outing. * |
