Website FAQsFAQs, cyberspeak for "frequently asked questions," is a feature of The Trusted Professional that answers common questions about www.nysscpa.org. Members who have questions or suggestions about the website can post inquiries and comments by clicking on the Technical Problems and Website Suggestions links at the bottom of the home page. The following are recent inquiries posed to the website editors: I frequently read the opinions and decisions of the General Accounting Office in NYSSCPA.ORG's Accounting Services section. However, I find the GAO area rather cumbersome to navigate because of the large number of decisions I have to scroll through in order to locate items available in Portable Document Format at the bottom of the section. Is there an easier way to quickly bypass the initial decisions and go directly to the documents? We recently modified the GAO section to make it more easily navigable. All decisions and opinions issued within the past five months are still available from the site but we only list the current month's decisions and opinions on the initial page. While you still have to scroll through the decisions in order to access the PDF-formatted documents, you'll find that the PDF documents are much more quickly reached than they were previously. In addition, you may still access opinions and decisions from prior months by clicking on Past GAO Decisions at the bottom of the screen. As you may know, you can view many other types of current articles from the home page in several areas including tax, accounting services, Society news, and government relations. You also can access previously featured articles by clicking on the Articles Archive link at the bottom of the home page. As with the GAO section, we previously had so many articles archived that it became somewhat cumbersome to navigate the section so we similarly modified the Articles Archive section. You will now find that only the most recently archived articles are available from the initial archives page. We have now conveniently grouped the articles into nine categories: tax, accounting services, practice management, technology, ethics and regulation, arbitration and mediation, Society news, government relations, and other topics. Simply click on the appropriate choice, and the screen will automatically scroll to the category. In addition, if you wish to view earlier articles, we've added a Past Articles section. Simply click on this title at the top of the Articles Archives section and your browser will display earlier featured articles grouped within the same nine categories. I would like to register for FAE courses and conferences. Is this information online? Indeed it is. The FAE catalog, which includes all its courses and conferences, is available on the website in its entirety. Simply go to the Find it Fast menu on the home page and click on Continuing Education. You can search by course title and geographic area, and even register directly online. * |
