Hear Updates on Taxes, Apparel and Restaurant Industries at November Conferences

By Lori Pendleton

In November, four FAE conferences will offer tax updates and overviews of recent developments in the apparel, textile, and restaurant industries.

This year's Annual Tax Conference will take place on November 4 at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in New York City and on November 12 at the Rochester Convention Centre in Rochester. The conference will examine the effects of 1997's Taxpayer Relief Act and other tax issues, including an update on the latest federal and New York state developments, and tips on tax planning and preparation and avoiding common pitfalls.

The Apparel and Textile Industry Conference, to be held November 10 at the Marriott East Side Hotel in New York City, will focus on how to position companies for the next millennium. In addition to an inside look at recent developments in economic, operational, and technological areas of apparel and textile industry, participants will also focus on issues that will affect the industry in the coming years, including the Year 2000 dilemma, raising capital, and survival tactics in this competitive business.

For a comprehensive update on the latest legislative and regulatory developments affecting partnerships, attend FAE's Partnership Taxation Conference on November 16 at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in New York City. Sessions will highlight tax preparation tips and planning strategies that CPAs can implement right away.

And back by popular demand, FAE offers a half-day conference on the restaurant industry. The Restaurant Industry Conference, scheduled for the morning of November 17 at New York City's Hilton Hotel and Towers, will examine valuations, business planning, and industry-related accounting issues. Speakers will also discuss how recent developments in tax and immigration laws have shaped the restaurant business. Registration includes a continental breakfast.

For registration information for these programs, see the course listings on pages 20-23 of this newspaper, or call FAE Registration at (212) 719-8383 or (800) 537-3635, or register online at www.nysscpa.org.
