Members Needed for Key Person Program

By Annette Davis

To enhance the CPA profession's grassroots network for the 1999 legislative session, particularly as new lawmakers enter office following the November elections, the NYSSCPA needs members to join its Key Person program.

Many members may know their elected officials on a personal level through political association or professional activities. As a Key Person, members serve as liaison to these officials.

"Member involvement ensures the profession's representation in the legislative and regulatory arenas, and our Key Persons help open doors," said Executive Director Louis Grumet. "It is crucial to get involvement from members who can make a difference with lawmakers."

Although Key Persons share their political contacts, the program is based on confidentiality. The Society will not contact a lawmaker without a member's prior knowledge.

For more information on becoming a Key Person, contact Annette Davis at (212) 719-8305, (800) 633-6320, or adavis@nysscpa.org.
