Volunteers Needed for Mock Interviews Program, Sept. 18

The CPA Candidates Committee, cochaired by Scott Champagne and Andrea Martellota, needs your help. The committee is again organizing the annual mock interviews program and is looking for practitioners to devote a few hours to meeting with students.

This year’s program will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sept. 18, at the offices of Rotenberg & Co., 1870 Winton Road South (Suite 200), in Rochester, N.Y.

This activity attracts accounting students from all of the nearby colleges’ accounting programs. Volunteer practitioners engage the students in 20-minute interviews and have 10 minutes to provide feedback to the interviewees. These meetings are a great opportunity for the students to learn and better understand the process by which many firms recruit new professional staff. They’re also a great opportunity for practitioners to meet students with whom they may soon be working.

If you are called by a committee member and asked to participate, we hope you will be able and willing to set some time aside for this very valuable (and fun) activity.
