July 1999 Issue Chapter Meetings Set Pace for New Year By Xiomara Fox The chapters begin every fiscal year with organizational meetings to outline their goals for the year. These meetings include dinners, officer visitations, CPE conferences, golf outings, and other special events. Organizational meetings are the nuts-and-bolts discussions at the heart of a chapter's workings that act as pep rallies for the leadership. Chapter member participation in these meetings is crucial to a chapter's success. A chapter's officers, board of directors, and committee chairs plan the organizational meetings. Vice President for Chapters Nancy Newman-Limata and Member Relations Division staff members attend to answer questions and work with the chapters to ensure that the Society and the chapter share the same goals. The Suffolk and Nassau organizational meetings took place in May. Buffalo, Mid Hudson, Rochester, and Westchester organizational meetings took place in June. The remaining chapters scheduled meetings for July.
