July 1999 Issue Members Socialize at Annual Conference The 1999 NYSSCPA Annual Conference took place June 58 at the Equinox Hotel in Manchester Village, Vt. Social activities ranged from golf and tennis to antiquing and shopping. Among the CPE programs were "Your Elderly Parents and You" and "The Wonderful World of the Euro."
First-time attendees were treated to a demonstration on catching trout while meeting and greeting Annual Conference Committee members and their spouses at the hotel's pond. At a "Cookies, Coffee, and Conversation" gathering, CPA pianists Brian A. Caswell and Michael L. Borsuk played sing-along music, pinball players competed, and a putting tournament took place. A tour of the estate of Abraham Lincoln's son Todd was a highlight of the conference. Attendees found the gardens and views breathtaking and the mansion and its furnishings interesting. Trained hawks from the British School of Falconry flew overhead, landing on the gauntlets of braver attendees. * |
