Society Vision Plan Offers Discounts, Free Exams

NYSSCPA members and their families can receive up to 60 percent savings on eyewear and free eye exams by taking advantage of a member-exclusive benefit, Eye Care International.

A $28 annual fee entitles members to eyewear discounts and a free exam by a participating ophthalmologist or optometrist as well as coverage on certain medical and surgical procedures, many of which are not covered under traditional health insurance plans.

Upon enrolling, members receive a geographic listing of more than 10,000 Eye Care providers. Other services include a 24-hour emergency telephone hotline, a patient prescription registry that allows Eye Care International to fax member prescriptions to providers, and a mail-order discount service for nonprescription sunglasses, safety glasses, and contact lenses.
