June 1999 Issue Salomon Chairs Individual Tax Planning Conferences By Tom Hall Alex Salomon, managing partner of Salomon & Co., CPAs PC, will chair FAE's Strategic Planning for Your High-Net-Worth Clients Conference on July 29 and co-chair the Tax Planning for Individuals Conference on August 24. The Trusted Professional recently spoke with Salomon, who chairs the NYSSCPA Taxation of Individuals Committee and received FAE's Outstanding Discussion Leader Award for 199899, to learn more about these conferences. The Strategic Planning for Your High-Net-Worth Clients Conference will take place at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in New York City. "This is an advanced-level program for any professional with high-net-worth clients," Salomon said. "It features an in-depth update on federal, state, and estate tax developments, both judicial and legislative. If it happened in the past year, we'll discuss it. We'll also be examining asset management and the effect of the stock market on tax and estate tax issues." Peggy Farley, president of Ascent Asset Management, Arthur Sederbaum of Paterson Belknap Webb & Tyler, and luncheon speaker Jeff Maurer, president and chief operating officer of U.S. Trust, headline the faculty. The Tax Planning for Individuals Conference will take place at the New York Hilton Hotel and Towers in New York City. "The topics in this conference cover a wider spectrum of individuals, however, this is not a basic-level return preparation course," Salomon said. "These programs focus on planning and strategies, not compliance. We'll be discussing the current environment for individual taxation and how attendees can help their clients going forward." The program is co-chaired by Israel Keller of Oram Yelon Bernstein PC and Steven S. Goodman of Goodman & Mizrach CPAs PC. Salomon and his wife Shari, also a CPA, have three daughters, Gayle, Lindsay, and Maxie, and a son, Kenneth. * Come meet Alex Salomon and other individual tax experts at FAE's Strategic Planning for Your High-Net-Worth Clients and Tax Planning for Individuals conferences.
