Katharine Doran (Northeast), of Teal Becker & Chiaramonte PC, talked with the Times-Union about the strains of tax season on tax preparers.

George Foundotos (Suffolk), of Coughlin Foundotos Cullen & Danowski LLP, was featured on CNNfn's "Entrepreneur's Only" offering business and tax tips; gave tax advice on each episode of Bloomberg TV's four-part series "Tax Smart Now"; and was quoted in Reuters Business Report regarding the acquisition of small accounting firms by large financial companies.

Daniel P. Johnson (Southern Tier), of Piaker & Lyons PC, Arthur N. Harrison (Southern Tier), of Davidson Fox & Co., Philip Wescott (Southern Tier), and Stanley R. Pazanski (Southern Tier), of Johnson Lauder and Savidge LLP, were featured answering questions in the Press & Sun-Bulletin (Binghamton) after participating in a tax hotline sponsored by the paper and organized by the NYSSCPA. On a separate occasion, Wescott spoke with the Press & Sun-Bulletin regarding the tax penalty for married couples.

Sidney Kess, own account, appeared in The Wall Street Journal regarding various tax deductions.

David A. Lifson, of Hays & Co., provided tax advice on a segment of Bloomberg TV's "Tax Smart Now." He also was featured with P. Gerard Sokolski (Rochester), of Mengel, Metzger, Barr & Co. LLP, on CNNfn regarding IRS reforms.

John Lloyd (Buffalo), of John Lloyd & Co., was featured on WJTN-AM (Jamestown) regarding tax tips.

Michael Mammolito (Syracuse), of DiMarco Abiusi & Pascarella CPAs PC, offered tax tips on WNSS-AM (Syracuse).

Martin Nissenbaum, of Ernst & Young LLP, and Ed Slott (Nassau), of E. Slott & Co. CPAs, were featured in The Wall Street Journal on tax complications when converting to a Roth IRA. Nissenbaum also was quoted in Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine on how to avoid traps when filling out tax forms and spoke to The Wall Street Journal about online trading and taxes.

Marc A. Schain (Mid Hudson), of Schain & Co. CPAs PC, discussed last-minute tax tips on WGHQ-AM (Kingston) as part of a four-part series.

Stuart Sinclair (Nassau), own account, appeared in Newsday advocating new street lights for Oyster Bay.

Alan E. Weiner (Nassau/Suffolk), of Holtz Rubenstein & Co. LLP, talked about IRS concerns regarding entrepreneurs doing business abroad in Business Week. He also taught high school students about income taxes on "CNN Newsroom," which aired on both CNN and CNN International, with Ginger Broderick, of Broderick & Co. PC. CNN distributed tapes of this interview to 30,000 high schools in the United States and Europe. Weiner and Ed Slott (Nassau), of E. Slott & Co. CPAs, were quoted in Newsday discussing the new IRS tax worksheets including student loan interest deductions, IRA deductions, the earned income credit, and the child tax credit.

Robert Willens, of Lehman Brothers, commented on the U.S. Tax Court decision to disallow several routinely used corporate tax write-offs in The Wall Street Journal. *
