March 1999 Issue
New York State Board of Regents Chancellor Carl T. Hayden will speak at the Society's Annual Election Meeting and Dinner, scheduled for Thursday, May 13, at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers. A New York native who earned his J.D. at Cornell Law School and served as president of the Elmira City School District Board of Education, Hayden has been chancellor of the Board of Regents since 1990.
Along with the chancellor's address and the installation of the 19992000 NYSSCPA officers, the dinner will include an awards presentation. Accounting graduates who won the Haskins & Sells Awards will be recognized. Selected members will receive the following awards: the Arthur J. Dixon Public Service Award, the Max Block Distinguished Article, the Outstanding CPA in Industry, the Dr. Emanuel Saxe Outstanding CPA in Education, the 19981999 FAE Outstanding Discussion Leader, and the NYSSCPA Special Recognition Awards. The Excellence in Financial Journalism Awards also will be presented.
