Suffolk Young CPAs Acknowledged for
Charity Effort

By Danielle D'Angelo

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County recently complimented the NYSSCPA Suffolk Chapter's Young CPAs Committee, which last fall raised $4,000 for the foundation.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation works to grant the wishes of children between ages 2 wQ and 18 with life-threatening illnesses. Proceeds from the Young CPAs Committee's Young Professionals Golf Classic helped fund the wish of a three-year-old from Shirley, N.Y., who suffers from a form of leukemia. She and her family went to Disneyworld, and the foundation reported that they had a wonderful time.

"Please know that it is only due to the commitment and caring of friends like you that the Make-A-Wish Foundation can continue to make such a difference in these children's lives," wrote Cathy LaSusa
Higgins and Dave Gussaroff, the organization's executive director and board member, respectively, in a letter to Suffolk Young CPAs Committee member John DeFalco.

De Falco, Cynthia Finn, and other committee members organized the golf tournament, one of the committee's many community outreach activities. For information on upcoming events, contact Young CPAs Committee Co-Chairs Frank Bland at (516) 755-0574 and Judi Cox at (516) 420-8100. *
