Candidates' Holiday Party Attracts Accounting LeadersBy Ron FriedmanFormer CPA Candidates Association Presidents Marc Haynes and Dena Williams At the CPA Candidates Association's holiday party, held December 22 at the NYSSCPA office, Candidates members had the opportunity to meet former mentors, officers, and advisors of the Association, including Beverley Sibblies, Joseph Schachter (Nassau), Dena Williams, Marc Haynes, and Sandra Scope, as well as leaders of the CPA profession including Stuart Kessler (Westchester), immediate past chair of the AICPA and a former NYSSCPA president, and Louis Grumet, NYSSCPA executive director. In addition to the networking opportunities available, the evening's highlight was a raffle, which included such prizes as a portable CD Walkman, an electronic organizer, a pen and pencil set, and a free CPA review course donated by Conviser Duffy CPA Review, the party's co-host.
