Isaac Assael (Westchester), of Enwood Personnel, was honored by the Metropolitan Jewish Geriatric Center, where he is currently a director and previously served as the center's president.
Francis Candia (Suffolk), of Holtz Rubenstein & Co. LLP, was honored for his work with the Association for the Help of Retarded Children.
William A. DeMilt (Nassau), of Mutual of America Life Insurance, was elected chairman of the board of directors of St. Mary's Foundation for Children.
Stanley M. Heller (Suffolk), of Peare & Heller PC, was re-elected to the board of trustees of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Long Island chapter.
Stuart Kessler (Westchester), of American Express Tax and Business Services of New York, was inducted into the Brooklyn Technical High School Hall of Fame.
Douglas W. Kurz (Nassau), of PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP, was named to the board of trustees of WLIW-TV Channel 21.
Edward A. Weinstein, of Deloitte & Touche LLP, was recognized for his professional and public service activities by Congressman Edolpus Towns, who spoke about Weinstein's achievements before the U.S. House of Representatives. Congressman Towns' statement also was published in The Congressional Record.
Barbara R. Williams (Buffalo), of Lumsden & McCormick LLP, was elected treasurer of the eastern district Women's Missionary League of the Lutheran Church of Missouri Synod.
Robert N. Yerman, of Law & Economics Consulting Group, spoke on the incremental cost analysis of damage estimation at the Economic Analysis of Intellectual Property Damages seminar in Chicago. *
