Can a nonlicensed individual prepare and submit financial statements? Yes. There is nothing in either the current law or the proposed legislation to prohibit any person, licensed or not, from preparing financial statements for the public. However, only a licensed individual through a registered CPA firm can provide assurances on financial statements. |
