TRUSTED PROFESSIONAL
The Trusted Professional is considered the editorial voice
for the NYSSCPA. Through this monthly publication, readers are made
aware of legislative, regulatory and administrative developments,
particularly as they concern tax and audit policies and accounting
practices of New York state. The newspaper provides information
on regulatory and ethical standards of the profession and helps
keep readers informed of key issues and changes that affect New
York CPAs. The Trusted Professional also features in-depth

LIABILITY
AND RISK MANAGEMENT GUIDEBOOK
This online Guidebook is designed to provide accounting firms with
instruction on how to protect their practices against liability
claims. The Guidebook is divided into three parts: the first addresses
insurance which has been the traditional form of risk management
utilized by accounting firms over the past thirty years; the second
addresses loss prevention techniques which have been developed in
recent years to supplement the protection offered by liability insurance;
and the third provides guidance on actions to be taken after a mistake
has been made or a claim has been threatened in order to minimize
possible future exposure.
NYSSCPA LEADERSHIP
DIRECTORY
Lists all Society officers, directors, committee chairs, and committee
members for the upcoming fiscal year. It also contains a listing
of all Society award winners and an organizational directory of
Society staff. This directory also lists each Society committee

THE
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES HANDBOOK
is published every fall and distributed to colleges and participating
firms, as well as to those attending Society career events. It
provides information on local small- and medium-sized CPA firms
to alert students to the diverse opportunities in public accounting.
The COH also offers information on firms, including the name of
hiring contacts.
