CPAs for a Cause 5K Run to Benefit Island Harvest

York, NY, September 17, 2004 -- The New York State Society
of Certified Public Accountants’ Nassau Chapter will hold
its Third Annual 5K Run/Walk on September 23 at Eisenhower Park
in East Meadow. Proceeds from this event will benefit Island Harvest,
a food rescue organization that distributes food to those in need
in Long Island communities, and whose mission is to end hunger and
reduce food waste on Long Island.
Donald X. Clavin, Jr., Hempstead Receiver of Taxes,
will be shooting the starting gun for this 5K race. The event is
being coordinated through CPAs for a Cause, a project of the NYSSCPA-Nassau
Chapter, which hopes to raise $20,000 from corporate sponsorships.
Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. for the race at 5:00 p.m
