NEW YORK, NY, JUNE 24, 2005 -- The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants has expanded its website capabilities to include job listings in each of its 17 chapter areas. These listings, accessible to all, are posted by members of the Society and can be found at each chapter location of the Society’s website, www.nysscpa.org.

The Society’s website also contains national job listings available via CareerBank.com and those published in the Society’s two publications, The CPA Journal and The Trusted Professional. The Future CPAs section of the website has other valuable information for job seekers including a Career Opportunities Handbook and typical questions and answers about the CPA profession.

Frank Fusaro, CPA of Forum Personnel in New York City, a recruiter for 31 years, says he has never seen as exciting a job market for the accounting profession. “The marketplace is abundant for new graduates as well as experienced candidates. One of the key areas influencing this growth has been the introduction of the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation and its compliance requirements. There is a hot demand for people with the right skill set.”

According to a recently published study by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, accounting graduates posted a 3.9 percent increase to their average starting salary offer since last spring, raising it to $43,809. Graduates with business administration/management degrees saw their average jump 3.2 percent, boosting it to $39,448.
