NEW YORK, NY, May 18, 2005 – The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) named Mark Ellis, CPA, ACA of Chappaqua its Outstanding CPA in Industry at its 108th Annual Election Meeting and Dinner held today at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel. This award honors a CPA with outstanding service and professional development in industry.

Ellis has been the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Michael C. Fina for the past seven years. Earlier, he was a division controller for Chanel, the corporate controller for Bruckner Supply, and the vice president of finance for Integrated Cable.

He joined the Society in 1997 and is a member of its Board of Directors. He has served as Chair of the Society’s Chief Financial Officers Committee and as a member of the Apparel and Textile Committee.

“Mark is an operational CFO with years of experience at managing the changes a company encounters as it goes through significant growth,” said Neville Grusd, CPA in nominating him for this award.

Ellis grew up and attended university in England where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant at the London office of Moores Rowland. He was transferred to the United States to their affiliate, M.R. Weiser where he spent five years as a senior manager.

He and his wife Debra have two children, Zachary and Rebecca.
