NEW
YORK, NY, March 31, 2008 – The New York State Society
of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) will present Mark G.
Leeds, CPA of Eastchester with its Outstanding CPA in Industry
Award on Thursday, May 15th at the Society’s 111th Annual
Election Meeting and Dinner at the New York Hilton Hotel in New
York City. This award recognizes CPAs who are chief financial

industry.
Leeds
is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Win Properties, a national
real estate company based in Rye Brook. He began his accounting
career at a public firm and worked at several others including
Marks Schron.
“Life
has been a love affair with numbers. I started out wanting to
be an actuary. The love affair continues with my present job.
I summarize it as ‘anything to do with a number,’”
Leeds said of his work at the privately owned national real estate
company, “It could be collections, budgets, year-end stuff
for taxes, reporting responsibilities for all our mortgages, cash
management, you name it.”
Leeds received the award for his substantial contributions to
the growth of the NYSSCPA Westchester Chapter’s Chief Financial
Officers committee. Don A. Kiamie, CPA who worked with Leeds at
the Westchester Chapter says, “I have watched Mark develop
and maintain the Westchester Chapter’s CFO committee over
a number of years into a vibrant committee that is a great resource
to members in industry in Westchester” Mark Ellis, CPA,
NYSSCPA Secretary who nominated Leeds for this award said. “I
do not believe this committee would be what it is today were it
not for Mark Leeds.”
Leeds
joined the NYSSCPA in 1975. He has served as a member of the Chief
Financial Officers, Financial Executives in Closely Held Businesses,
Apparel and Textile, Hospitality Industry, Publishing and Printing
and Real Estate committees. He is currently serving as secretary
and executive committee member for the NYSSCPA’s Westchester
Chapter as well as being a former co-chair of its CFO and Senior
Financial Officers committees.
His
personal affiliations include Sinai Free Synagogue (First Vice
President), Harlem Yacht Club (Treasurer) and the Mogul Meisters
Ski Club (Vice President-Skiing).
He

New York at Stony Brook and a Master of Science degree in Accounting
from New York University. In addition to being a CPA, he is a
Certified Treasury Professional (an advanced certification for
cash managers) and a member of the Association of Financial Professionals
where he was the recipient of its Honors Award (given to the top
300 Treasury and Finance Professionals) in 2004, 2005 and 2007.
