Officers Elected for FAE and CPA PAC They include: Arthur Bloom, of Marks Paneth and Shron LLP, as president; Gail M. Kinsella, of Testone Marshall & Discenza LLP, as president-elect; Peter K. Maier, of Kirby Beals Maier CPAs PLLC, as secretary; and Scott J. Jaffee, of Flemming Zulack & Williamson LLP, as treasurer. In years past, the Foundation’s bylaws determined the FAE officers. The immediate past Society president was the FAE president, the current Society president was the FAE vice president, and the Society president-elect was the FAE secretary and treasurer. In July 2004, the FAE trustees amended their bylaws to provide for the FAE trustees themselves to choose the officers of the corporation. Additionally, the office of vice president was replaced by a president-elect, who assumes the office of FAE president after a year as president-elect. Also last month, during the Society’s Annual Leadership Conference, the CPA PAC Board of Trustees elected new officers for the current fiscal year. They include: Anthony J. Maltese, Maltese & Company CPAs PLLC, as president; Barbara S. Dwyer, of Barbara S. Dwyer, CPA, as vice president; and Nancy A. Kirby, Kirby Beals Maier CPAs PLLC, as secretary. According to NYSS-CPA bylaws, the Society’s executive director serves as the treasurer for CPA PAC. The NYSSCPA Board of Directors formed CPA PAC in 1999 to help strengthen the accounting profession’s voice with the New York state legislature.
